Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. ~ Robert Frost ~

I believe the journey I chose is the one less traveled by because I:

● Married my high school sweetheart and we are still married after 21 years.
● Went to college at night while working a full time job.
● Started my first job at 15. I have never been off from work for more than two weeks in a row, even after the births of my three children – now ages 14, 11 and 9.
● Don’t have a cleaning lady, nanny or landscaper.
● Changed religions when the one I was born into didn’t work for me anymore.
● Left a career, and good paying job, in graphic arts to become a dog groomer.
● Started a dog grooming business that I run out of my house so I could schedule around my family’s needs and my writing.
● Have owned/maintained several side businesses in addition to my graphics job and grooming business over the past 10 years.
● Volunteer in every area of my kids’ lives – school, activities, church.
● Have learned to say no when something doesn’t work for me (most of the time!).
● Have written hundreds of blog posts and freelance articles and was editor of several local newsletters.
● Hope that my writing entertains, encourages and comforts my readers.

We have a lot in common, and it’s great to find a “mom” blog that deals with older kids as well!

Thanks! I am headed over to check out your blog this morning!

  3. By way of a formal introduction, I write about life with our twins at Two Times the Fun. I’ve been reading your blog and find your voice really interesting.

I also write for http://thechicagomoms.com/. We are a collaborative group of mommy bloggers who write about life. Last I heard, we had more than 2,000 subscribers. We are not paid, but we can repost onto our own blogs and the publicity always drives traffic to our sites.

Our site is always accepting applications for new writers, and I’d like to encourage you to take a look at our site and consider applying to join us. I think you would bring a unique voice to our group. The commitment is two posts per month.

If you are interested, please email me at slcs48n1 (at) yahoo.com. I’ll send additional information.

    Best,

    Shari
